Note that we haven't selected the play out of defence instruction, as rather than committing to a fixed means of building from the back, Liverpool instead opt to mix things up by welcoming long passes alongside those that are short. To further increase the effectiveness of Alexander-Arnold's crossing ability, we've selected whipped crosses, which encourages wide players to deliver the ball with pace into the box. We've also used the overlap left instruction, to encourage Andy Robertson to run behind Sadio Mane, but we've not selected the overlap right instruction, as we don't want Alexander-Arnold constantly overlapping, as he often varies his crossing angles and we wanted to replicate that in-game. ![]() ![]() To further increase mentality and risk from Liverpool's most dangerous players, the wide attackers and the full-backs, we've selected the focus play down the right and focus play down the left instructions, which places a real attacking emphasis on the wide areas.
